Soft, buttery Butter Swim Biscuits meet sweet peach cobbler in this comforting dessert that’s crispy around the edges, tender in the middle, and packed with warm peach flavor. We didn’t have any buttermilk, so we used whole milk instead—and they still turned out delicious!
Ingredients
Butter Swim Biscuit Dough
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 tsp kosher salt
- 1¾ cups whole milk (we substituted whole milk for the buttermilk)
- ½ cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
Peach Cobbler Filling
- 1/4 butter
- 1 (15 oz) can sliced peaches
- ½ cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- Dash of cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Melt the butter and pour it into an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine the butter (melt before adding remaining ingredients) peaches, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Stir in the whole milk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Spread the biscuit batter into the melted butter.
- Spoon the peach mixture evenly over the batter.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serving Suggestion
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. 🍨
Huston Sisters Tip ❤️
This recipe came together because we were out of buttermilk, so we substituted whole milk. It still turned out buttery and delicious! Next time, we’ll add more peaches for an even fruitier bite.
